Life Check# 20 Five Myths About Aliens That Hollywood Wants Us To Believe

Why Real Scientists Think Aliens Would Never Eat Humans

When the Martians first land on Earth in the 1996 sci-fi comedy Mars Attacks!, for a moment it appears all will be fine. "We come in peace," says their leader, as the music swells and a dove soars overhead. Seconds later the Martian pulls out a laser gun and opens fire on a crowd of human onlookers. Yet another blockbuster alien invasion has begun.
That's Hollywood, of course. But the melodrama underscores one of humanity's most widely held fears: that if and when we do encounter extraterrestrial beings, they will wreak all kinds of havoc, much as they do in the movies.

Or will they? For his new book, Aliens: The World's Leading Scientists on the Search for Extraterrestrial Life, quantum physicist Jim Al-Khalili asked a series of experts to explore how humans might actually make contact with aliens. The possibility is not as far-fetched as it once seemed: since NASA launched its Kepler mission in 2009, researchers have discovered thousands of new planets and "revolutionized our concept of how many habitable worlds could exist," writes astrobiologist Nathalie Cabrol in one of the book's essays.
But while Hollywood suggests we should expect to battle their inhabitants, science tells a different story. Here, five popular alien myths that Aliens debunks.

MYTH NO. 1: Aliens would eat us
Movies like The Blob and Critters imagine aliens harvesting humans for food, an unpleasant prospect. But it doesn't track with the science of nutrition, writes astrobiologist Lewis Dartnell. In order for aliens to get nourishment from eating us, their bodies would have to be capable of processing our molecules (like amino acids and sugars). And that requires having a similar biochemistry--a long shot for a species that hails from a different world.

MYTH NO. 2: Aliens would breed with us
Both of this summer's extraterrestrial blockbusters, Alien: Covenant and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, involve human-alien hybrids. But given that we can't even reproduce with our nearest evolutionary relative, the chimpanzee, it's "overwhelmingly improbable" we could do so with aliens, according to Dartnell.

MYTH NO. 3: Aliens would look like us
Human evolution depended on so many unique and unpredictable factors, it's near impossible that an extraterrestrial species would have human-like features, like the aliens in The Day the Earth Stood Still and Star Trek. It's far likelier, writes neuroscientist Anil Seth, that they'd be as different as the octopus, "our very own terrestrial alien," which has a high level of intelligence, a decentralized nervous system and an alternative style of consciousness.

MYTH NO. 4: Aliens would be "living" creatures
Even restrained films like Arrival get this one wrong, according to some scientists. Should aliens contact us, cosmologist Martin Rees believes we will hear not from fellow organic creatures, but from the robots they produced, who can, in theory, live forever.

MYTH NO. 5: Aliens would steal our water and metal
The aliens in Independence Day famously arrive to strip Earth of its resources. But again, that logic doesn't add up, writes Dartnell. Most of our metal is in the Earth's core, not its crust; asteroids would be far better targets for mining. And icy moons, like Jupiter's Europa, would be easier places to stock up on water. They're uninhabited, and they don't have Earth's strong gravitational pull.

So if aliens aren't interested in harvesting our lands or our bodies, why would they make contact? Dartnell suspects a purer motive: curiosity. "If aliens did come to Earth," he writes, it would probably be "as researchers: biologists, anthropologists, linguists, keen to understand the peculiar workings of life on Earth, to meet humanity and learn of our art, music, culture, languages, philosophies and religions."

We Are on the Verge of Discovering Aliens, According to These Scientists

A fascinating new book seriously tackles the question of extraterrestrial life from the perspective of leading astronomers, astrophysicists, geneticists, and neuroscientists.

c Theoretical physics may be difficult and complicated, "but it does have sex appeal." So says quantum physicist Jim Al-Khalili. "It's easy to find an audience for popular science or for a TV documentary about the Big Bang or about black holes," he recently told me. Al-Khalili's work in the field has led to the fascinating new book Aliens: The World's Leading Scientists on the Search for Extraterrestrial Life, which explores what he believes is the likely possibility of alien life.

The Iraqi-born, UK-based Al-Khalili's intro opens with an anecdote: The Nobel Prize–winning physicist Enrico Fermi is jokingly discussing flying saucers with some colleagues at the Los Alamos National Laboratory when he poses a simple question: "Where is everybody?" His point, Al-Khalili writes, is that the universe is so massive and contains so many planets, that it makes little sense for Earth to be the only place where life blossomed, unless our planet is "astonishingly and unjustifiably special."
Aliens, out this week from Picador, proceeds in the way that one imagines that Fermi's conversation at Los Alamos might have: serious scientists, in occasionally cheeky dialogue with one another, acknowledging that the question they're pursuing—Is anybody out there?—has long been pursued by kookier personalities, conspiracy theorists obsessed with Area 51, and alien abductions. Instead, Al-Khalili's book offers research-driven essays by prominent astronomers, astrophysicists, geneticists, and neuroscientists, and their pieces offer a wide range of ways to think about the question of extraterrestrial life. Several astrobiologists consider what life requires and which planets and moons might have the right mix: neuroscientist Anil Seth considers the "alien" intelligence of the octopus here on Earth; cosmologist Martin Rees speculates on the possibility of humans merging with machine intelligence and setting out to explore the universe as a new cyborg species.
But for the most part, these experts are weighing in on one fundamental question: Is life special, a unique and almost impossible trick that happened here on Earth? Or is it easy, almost inevitable, a spark that just arises where the conditions are right? It's an age-old question, that, as Al-Khalili explains, we may finally have the technology to answer.

VICE: What drew you to the questions that the book addresses? Are you someone who has had a lifelong interest in the idea of aliens?Jim Al-Khalili: It's not so much aliens, but more to do with the question of what is special about life. Probably all scientists find that topic fascinating. There are certain questions in science that we don't have answers to, which we say, those are the big questions: What was there before the universe, before the Big Bang? How did life begin on Earth? How did chemistry turn into biology? What is the nature of consciousness? These are the questions that transcend disciplines. If you get a chemist, a physicist, a biologist, a computer scientist—all of them are going to be fascinated by this.
When I was young, I suppose I was interested in aliens like anyone else. I'm a sci-fi fan. But, for me, the question was really what is so special about life how did it start on Earth and whether it is unique to Earth.

The book is serious, but the interest in extraterrestrial life has a reputation for being pretty quirky.Someone once told me that half the internet is devoted to conspiracy theories to do with alien abductions and UFOs. Half is probably too much, but there's so much out there, from X-Files to science fiction in movies, that it is surprising to think that scientists would treat the question of extraterrestrial life seriously at all. And that's what made this so refreshing. The book is highlighting the fact that there are lots of questions that are of interest to scientists that you can actually treat seriously. If you really want to know the possibility of whether there are little green men out there, here are the serious scientific takes on it, from all angles. So, it's meant to be of interest to the wider lay audience but dealt with in a grown-up way.

You mention that there has been a shift within the scientific community toward taking this seriously and away from the era of imagining little green men. Do you have thoughts on when and how that changed?
This shift has come about because of advances in astronomy and space exploration in the last decade or two. We have started to send probes to Mars, to the moons of the gas giants Saturn and Jupiter, and we are seriously starting to be able to study the places where there potentially could be life in our solar system. And at the same time, in the past decade, we have discovered planets around stars outside our solar system, exoplanets. Astronomy has been advancing so quickly that what was unthinkable a decade ago is now reality. We can now not only pinpoint which stars have planets going around them, but we can look at those planets and even tell whether they have an atmosphere. Just from the light passing through the atmosphere from the star that they are going around, we can study that light and that can tell us the chemical composition of the atmosphere and that can tell us what elements, what molecules, what compounds are in that atmosphere, and would they be there naturally or would there have to be life present to have made them. So, these advances in astronomy and space exploration suddenly mean that we can actually address this question. It's got to the point now where I'm quite optimistic that in my lifetime, it's likely that we will discover life elsewhere.

Wow.

Ten years ago, I wouldn't have thought that. Now, all these things are coming together. One of the contributors in the book, [professor of evolutionary biochemistry] Nick Lane, talks about the building blocks of life. What do you need? Is there anything magical? You get molecules getting more and more complicated, and then eventually you get something that can make copies of itself, and that's the first precursor of life. Well, until recently we thought there was a missing step—"and then some magic happens"—and then you get biology from chemistry! But there seems to be no magical steps necessary. I now reckon that the consensus among most scientists is that it would be quite surprising if we don't find life elsewhere, probably within our lifetime. It might not be interesting life—it won't be men in flying saucers—it will be some form of microbial life. But, hey, for scientists that will be enough.

"Astronomy has been advancing so quickly that what was unthinkable a decade ago is now reality. It's got to the point now where I'm quite optimistic that in my lifetime, it's likely that we will discover life elsewhere."

So on the big question in the book, which is something like "is life on Earth special and unique or is it common?"—and there are great arguments posed for each side—where do you fall on that spectrum personally?

There's a wide spectrum of opinion among informed scientists. So the fact that I sit somewhere in the middle is because I've been influenced by both sides. My kind of naïve view is that we only know of life happening somewhere: on Earth. We are beginning to see that the conditions on Earth are not unique. Forgive the metaphor, but a lot of stars have to have aligned for that—we have to be the right distance from the sun, we have to have an atmosphere, we have to have a moon that gives us tides, we have to have a big planet like Jupiter that is sucking up the debris so it doesn't bombard us. But there are so many other star systems; there are so many other exoplanets, just in our galaxy alone, that there must be millions, billions of other Earths that have the conditions necessary for life. So in that sense we know we are not unique.

But that doesn't mean that we know how life got started, just because those conditions exist. We know that life began on Earth very soon after Earth cooled down enough for life to possibly exist, almost 4 billion years ago. Now, over 4 billion years ago, the Earth was just a ball of fire. It wasn't conducive to anything. So, as soon as the conditions were right for life, life got started. But it didn't develop into complex life until much, much later. So I'm of the view that life as a simple single cellular form may well be not that difficult. It may be almost ubiquitous in the universe. But multicellular life, life that could then evolve into complex organisms, some of which could develop consciousness and intelligence and civilizations—that actually may be the harder step. How hard it is, we don't know yet.

I wonder if you can talk a little bit about the role of human radio, TV, and satellite communication and how that factors into the search for alien life. Why do people assume that aliens would also use this same kind of signaling?

We're starting with the assumption with the idea that the laws of physics and the forces of nature are the same throughout the universe. We know of four of these forces. Two of them are active inside of atoms, the nuclear forces. And the only other ones are gravity and the electromagnetic force. Gravity is limited technologically, but the electromagnetic force is versatile: Light is the electromagnetic force, and radio waves are the electromagnetic force. So it's a means of sending information from one place to the other. So we're assuming that whatever form life takes elsewhere, even if its not carbon based—it could be something really beyond our imagination—we still think they will make use of electromagnetic forces. It is a potentially universal way of communicating.

So if we are announcing our existence to the rest of the universe, then it may be that life elsewhere that is doing the same thing. Which is why the whole SETI program is about listening out into the universe to hear some electromagnetic signal that we don't think could have just happened naturally. Of course, we've only been announcing our existence to the world for about 100 years or so, when we first developed radio. So our electromagnetic signals have only extended out to a radius of 100 light years. And actually there aren't that many star systems within 100 light years. The universe is vast—there's billions of stars in our own galaxy—but there are only a handful within that range. Of course, an alien civilization may have been announcing their existence to the universe millions of years ago, for all we know, so those signals, if we do receive those signals, they may have traveled across vast distances—it won't mean that we can then say, "Hi, we're here," and then make contact with them. But just the knowledge that there is life out there somewhere would be profound.

Life Check# 18 Where Does Trump Stand On UFOs?

DONALD TRUMP RE-FORMS THE NATIONAL SPACE COUNCIL: WHERE DOES THIS PRESIDENT STAND ON UFOS?

Trump recently re-activated the National Space Council, at an event at the White House where several members of Congress, industry officials and Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin were in attendance. The council was last active at the end of the George H.W. Bush administration in 1993. The council will advise the president on matters regarding setting space policy. It will also bring the government’s relationship with industry leaders, agencies, and private contractors closer.

Some are saying this will make secrecy even more rampant given the fact that private corporations will probably have more rule in space, but perhaps it’s the other way around. Space and space affairs, in general, have always been plagued with extrHere’s a great lecture on the secret space program.

This is even more intriguing because of some of the leaders within this industry, like the founder of Bigelow Aerospace, Robert Bigelow, who recently confirmed in an interview that he knows that extraterrestrials are visiting the planet.

The reason that space affairs are so interesting is that, as ex-NASA astronaut and former Princeton physics professor pointed out, “there is abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been visiting us for a very long time.”

There are now hundreds of high ranking military people, political people, academics, NASA astronauts and more from all over the world who have testified to their knowledge and evidence of an extraterrestrial presence.

Trump, obviously in many ways, is unlike any US president we’ve ever had. At the same time, in many ways, comparisons can be drawn to multiple past presidents. One thing is for certain: his presidential win was a shocker to many, and he definitely was not the favourite among Wall Street, corporate America and the financial elite, all of whom were backing Hillary Clinton, the “golden-child” that seemed to be the one chosen to continue pushing for the American empire and its globalization/take-over agenda through “justified” military intervention and invasion for ulterior motives, otherwise known as false-flag terrorism.

Trump, on the other hand, has been causing a lot of trouble for this powerful group of people and the corporations they hide behind. When it comes to “terror,” during his campaign Trump called out the US government for funding ISIS, which is interesting because the connections there have been strong for many years. It’s something many whistleblowers, politicians and academicians have been trying to create awareness about for years, despite little or no attention from the mainstream media. He’s called out the concerns associated with vaccines and gave corporate America a lot of trouble when we dismantled the Trans-Pacific Partnership. He even exposed Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted paedophile with close ties to the Royal Family, and people like Bill Clinton.

Despite these revelations, Trump has also made it easy for himself to be vilified, but that’s all we see. The cabal-owned mainstream media does not and will never support Trump, and puppets of theirs would not have done or said the things Trump has so far, and therefore you will constantly see him made out to look like a terrible person and a fool. There is no doubt, in my mind, that he is a threat to the cabal's plan for a heightened national security state and a New World Order. Many complain about his cabinet picks, and what they really represent, but there is much we don’t understand, like the fact, as Putin said, that “men in black suits” show up and advise/infiltrate the presidency. This is the invisible government, the government within the government, and it’s why, as Putin told the world, so many presidents are unable to do what they said they were going to do. It’s because even the president has a boss.

“Political parties exist to secure responsible government and to execute the will of the people.

From these great tasks, both of the old parties have turned aside. Instead of instruments to promote the general welfare, they have become the tools of corrupt interests which use them impartially to serve their selfish purposes. Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government, owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people.

To destroy this invisible government, to dissolve the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.”

Given Trump’s record of blatantly sharing truths, some of which are so against what we’ve been made to believe for years, he seems to be more of a proponent of transparency than any president we’ve had since JFK. If this is truly the case, he would be a president that supports telling the public that we are not alone. That being said, he does seem to be a big fan of “national security” and preserving secrets and profiting off of international conflict. In politics, it’s extremely hard to tell, nothing is ever as it seems, which is why most people’s hate for Trump is completely misguided, and simply brainwashed into man via the mass brainwash machine that is mainstream media.

The important thing to remember here is that true disclosure won’t really come from any global government, but the people. The amount of awareness and information that’s now come to light, especially within the past few years, on this topic is truly incredible. More and more people are starting to recognize that we don’t really need our television, or those whom we give our power over to, to tell us “what is” and “what isn’t.” The time has come for us to start thinking for ourselves.

“For sure, the power elite closed ranks and did everything possible to ensure a victory for Clinton. This included not only the Democratic party (which previously played dirty pool against Bernie Sanders), but the entire mainstream media machine, the financial community, the EU, and even the Republican party itself. If nothing else, I had concluded that the media alone had done a sufficient job of demonizing Trump – multiple negative headlines daily for more than a year – to make him unelectable to the American people.”

Above are the worlds of Richard Dolan, one of the world’s leading writers and researchers on the topic of UFOs. He wrote an article regarding Donald Trump and UFO disclosure. His words are probably best to read on this subject, and you can do so HERE.

There is no doubt that Hillary was going somewhere; she spoke openly multiple times, and so did her campaign manager John Podesta, about lifting the veil of secrecy that surrounds this topic. Based on what I’ve looked into, these two were puppets of the global financial elite, used to push forth their agenda while reaping all of the rewards. Wikileaks, among many other revelations, also gave this argument more strength.

Any type of UFO disclosure coming from that type of government, as I’ve always written, to me, is highly questionable and probably being used to benefit them, or used to push forth some sort of ulterior agenda.

At the end of the day, UFO/extraterrestrial disclosure is happening as it should. The people are becoming more aware, and that’s all that matters. We don’t need to continually rely on authoritative figures whom we vote in every four years to tell us. It’s happening, and it’s happening through the mass population. That is true UFO disclosure, and we’re living in it!

THE UNITED STATES TRIED TO DETONATE A NUCLEAR WEAPON ON THE MOON & SOMEBODY RESPONDED WHEN WE DID..........

In the 1950s, Colonel Ross Dedrickson was responsible for maintaining the inventory of the nuclear weapon stockpile for the AEC, and for accompanying security teams checking out the security of the weapons, among many other duties.  As his obituary states:

He was assigned to the US Atomic Energy Commission. A long service with the Energy Commission between 1950-1958 included, contract administration duties at Nevada test sites, Pacific Nuclear Test Area west of Hawaii, nuclear weapon manufacturing and quality assurance in Albuquerque, and inspection of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities throughout the country. He served with the 5th Air Force in Japan and later as a ranking Colonel, Officer in Charge of the Pacific Unified Command (TM)s alternate “command and control center” in Hawaii. In 1962, he was transferred and served as Deputy for Material for the 832 Air Division at Canon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico. He retired from the USAF in 1964.

He is one of the hundreds of military whistleblowers with verified backgrounds to have been brought forth by Dr. Steven Greer’s Disclosure Project. His testimony about UFOs — specifically about UFOs and nuclear weapons — can be corroborated by a wealth of information and evidence that’s now available within the public domain. Many of these whistleblowers have made multiple appearances at the National Press Club in an effort to get this information out to the world, with the most recent example being the Citizens Hearing on Disclosure, which took place a few years ago.
With such a professional background, working in the places he has worked, it’s safe to infer he was privy to sensitive information on a number of subjects. This isn’t just a random high-ranking military whistleblower talking about a random issue. There are many whistleblowers and documents clearly outlining a decades-long relationship between UFOs and nuclear storage facilities and test sites.

A number of these incidents have visual confirmation, along with air and ground radar confirmation as well.

In the interview below, Dedrickson explains how the American government tried to detonate a nuclear weapon on the moon but were prevented from doing so.
As far as the mainstream goes, it’s public knowledge that a declassified report by the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center from June 1959 shows just how seriously they considered the plan, called Project A119. In general, they wanted to investigate the capability of weapons in space, as well as gain further insight into the space environment and the detonation of nuclear devices within it.
As far as the information below, that probably goes deeper into the Black Budget.

It’s interesting how the world is so into television shows like Stranger Things, which depicts the Department of Energy and their involvement with otherworldly creatures and other strange facts, yet so willing to ignore a high-ranking American Colonel who held very sensitive positions at the Department of Energy for years, at a time when all of this nuclear development was really hot. He is the real deal and it’s interesting to ponder what he might really know.
“I also learned about incidents involving nuclear weapons, and among these incidents were a couple of nuclear weapons sent into space were destroyed by the extraterrestrials. . . . At the very end of the 70s and the early 80s, we attempted to put a nuclear weapon on the moon and explode it for scientific measurements and other things, which was not acceptable to the extraterrestrials. They destroyed the weapon before it got to the moon.”

Life Check# 16 Some Experts Think That First Contact With Aliens Will Not End Well

Any extraterrestrial beings, aliens, who possess the capability of traveling to Earth will likely far surpass us in intelligence and be quite hostile.

Thoughts such as, "If you are stupid enough to challenge them, you will be taken out in three seconds," are the purview of people like Ridley Scott, director of several of the “Alien” series of movies. He believes that hundreds of alien species are out there on distant worlds and Earth's inhabitants should prepare for the worst whenever they decide to visit our planet.

Scott says that even though our movies often show how we plucky humans eventually find a way to defeat the terrifying aliens, don't expect a happy Hollywood ending when they come calling for real. Our best bet, Scott said, would be to "run for it."
Seth Shostak, the senior astronomer at the SETI Institute, disagrees, saying that Scott's information about such hostile and abundant aliens is off-base and unsupported. While our current knowledge of extraterrestrial planets tells us that potentially habitable exoplanets are quite common, and, therefore, we might assume intelligent life also to be common in the universe, that's a far leap from assuming they might actually come here.

First of all, Shostak says, any planet farther than 70 light years away would not have received any radio signals from us to indicate our existence. Even if more a distant civilization had the technological ability to detect the oxygen in our atmosphere, it's unlikely they'd send a heavily-armed armada “to look at what might amount to just a lot of bacteria.”
It's also unlikely aliens would come searching to supplement their diets. Their biochemistry is likely not compatible with ours. "To do that, they would have to know that we had something interesting within our bodies that they could metabolize, and their body chemistry would probably be very different from ours," Shostak said.

Earth formed 4.5 billion years ago, but our Milky Way galaxy is 12 billion years old. Planets far older than Earth orbit other stars and many intelligent species far older than humans might also exist. Chances are virtually certain that any alien civilization that might show up here is millions or even billions of years technologically superior to us. Even though Shostak discounts the likelihood of any actual direct encounter with hostile aliens, if he saw a spaceship suddenly appear, he admitted that he'd probably do as Scott suggested and just "run for it."

Black holes and X-rays

Black holes represent one of the deadliest members of the cosmic zoo. Although such beasts were first hypothesized nearly 100 years ago, the result of a detailed analysis of Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity, evidence for the first suspected black hole didn't come until 1964 when a rocket flight designed to scan for X-ray sources discovered extremely powerful x-rays emanating from the constellation of Cygnus, the Swan. Labeled Cygnus X-1, the first x-ray source in that constellation, it soon became clear that the x-rays come from what was once a massive star 40 times larger than our sun. At the end of the star's life, it collapsed into the black hole.
The X-rays occur because the black hole forms a binary star system with a blue giant star. The black hole slowly cannibalizes its companion, and as the stolen material falls into the black hole, it emits a death cry in the form of powerful x-rays. Cygnus X-1 is the second closest known black hole to Earth. Black holes are invisible. Unless one has a companion to feed it, there would be no evidence of its existence. So if a solitary black hole happens to be moving toward us, we'd never know it until it was too late.

Planet visibility report

As June begins, Mercury and Venus grace the morning pre-dawn sky. Venus is unmistakable, rising two hours before the sun and easily outshining everything in the sky before the sun rises. Jupiter rides high in the south at sunset and Saturn hits the western horizon half an hour after sunset. By the month's end, Venus remains as the brilliant “Morning Star” while Mercury and Mars are lost in the evening twilight. Jupiter remains visible in the post-sunset night sky until 1:30 a.m. and Saturn rises an hour before sunset. Full moon occurs on June 9 with the new moon following on the June 23.

Wayne Harris-Wyrick is an Oklahoma astronomer and former director of the Kirkpatrick Planetarium at Science Museum Oklahoma. Questions or comments may be emailed towizardwayne@zoho.com.

As for an alien race wanting to steal our resources, any civilization advanced enough to come here has likely used all the resources of its own solar system — every planet, moon and asteroid. Such aliens likely have the ability to create what they need from simpler materials in their own backyard, “rather than traveling across the galaxy for a very limited supply,” Shostak said

IT'S COMING: Shock claim that we are on the brink of being told aliens have visited Earth

THE US Government could soon crack and admit it has secretly been hiding evidence of alien visitations of Earth for the last 70 years, it has astonishingly been claimed.
By JON AUSTIN

The Paradigm Research Group (PRG), which campaigns to bring an end to an alleged "truth embargo" to keep the truth from the globe, believes there will soon be no going back for government insiders.

Steve Bassett, executive director of the group is the only registered lobbyist in the US on the issue of alien disclosure.

He is convinced that the shocking secret has been withheld amid fears of the impact it would have on religion and the rule of law since a flying saucer allegedly crashed in the New Mexico desert outside Roswell in 1947.

Mr. Bassett is now seeking $50,000 to help fund the campaign to pressurize the White House to roll over and say "yes, we've deceived you for the last 70 years."
He has launched an End The Truth Embargo fundraising page on gofundme.com.
Mr. Bassett says on the page: "This funding effort is in service to every citizen of every nation now convinced the world should not wait one more day for confirmation we are not alone is this universe.

"For 70 years this truth has been embargoed by your government.
"After 20 years of engagement with the issue, I know this embargo can end soon with your help."

He says the money will be used to set up a permanent office in Washington DC for PRG to "keep the pressure on the media to engage the politics of disclosure throughout 2017."

Mr Bassett said the cash would also all PRG to: "Seek professional speaker representation, make contact with officials in European countries, develop video media for use in the disclosure advocacy movement, built up the Exopolitics World Network and the United States Network, and consolidate, redesign and update PRG's many websites and Facebook pages."

PRG was buoyed on May 28 when during an interview on CBS 60 Minute's billionaire space engineer, Robert Bigelow, remarkably revealed he believed there is an "extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race."

Mr. Bassett said: "He spoke truth to power. He stated unequivocally there is an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race. When asked if he was concerned what people might think of that statement, he replied, 'I don't give a damn.'

This funding campaign will ensure PRG can adjust to new strategies to ultimately bring the White House and the Pentagon to the table to work out the necessary understanding allowing disclosure.
Steve Bassett
"PRG salutes Mr. Bigelow and asks, 'Who will join him?'
"This funding campaign will ensure PRG can adjust to new strategies to ultimately bring the White House and the Pentagon to the table to work out the necessary understanding allowing disclosure."

The funding campaign is being conducted in conjunction with Coast to Coast AM with George Noory - described as "the most listened to late night talk program in America." Coast to Coast AM has for the past 25 years provided a platform for researchers, activists, "alien contactees", and other UFO witnesses.
So far Mr Bassett has been pledged $6,123 of his target.

It comes after fellow disclosure activist Dr. Steven Greer claimed US intelligence moles were trying to break open the truth but were concerned about what will happen to them.
However, skeptics argue that Mr. Bassett and Dr. Greer are simply conspiracy theorists, who have got it wrong, and no aliens have ever visited Earth.
